Description
A long solo (8 pages) by John Coltrane, which for me ranks in the top 5 of his best solos.
Without piano, he makes the harmony of the famous theme “INDIANA” fully heard in a 4/4 sequence with the drums
Ab (4 choruses), modulation to F a minor third below for 2 choruses, then a whole step below in Eb for two choruses and finally in Bb, i.e. a whole step above the original key..without a single mistake.
Transcription for Bb instruments, low register.
